Jihane Alameh, wife of pop star Ragheb Alameh, has received a death threat just days after unknown arsonists destroyed the singer's car. The menacing telephone call came on May 29, leaving her so shocked that a doctor had to come and calm her down in the middle of the night, according to thisiscyberia.com.

Alameh is reportedly returning from the United States on May 30 to ensure that his family receives special care. He will also hire a few bodyguards. The unknown caller specifically threatened Jihane, not Ragheb or their two young children, but it is believed the singer may still be the main target of the caller's harassment.

“We shouldn’t take anything 100 percent seriously,” Ragheb’s brother Mohammad Alameh, told thisiscyberia.com. “We have to consider that there’s a chance that some people are just fooling around.”

In the early hours of Saturday, May 26, a group of unidentified thugs set fire to Alameh’s car while it was parked in front of his apartment. The fire was started in the trunk of the car with the intention of blowing up the gasoline tank. But the building's janitor managed to extinguish the fire before it destroyed the 2001 BMW 750.

“An investigation is underway,” said Mohammad Alameh, “and there’s currently a possibility of tracking down the arsonist. But incidents are still on a material, not personal level. We shouldn’t jump to conclusions.”

Sources close to Alameh family say that they want to keep things low-profile. Meanwhile, the police are investigating whether this is simply the behavior of an obsessed fan or something more sinister – Albawaba.com
