Prominent Egyptian actress Rania Fareed Shawki admitted that she and her husband, prominent Egyptian actor Mustafa Fahmi, may separate due to numerous problems between them.
She and Mustafa married after a heated love affair, but are now facing a difference of opinion, said Rania.
Mustafa is a loving, caring and trustworthy man, she said, but he is very persistent about being on time, and if he thinks another person does not respect that, “all hell breaks loose.”
On a different note, Rania said that her silence during the Egyptian January 25 Revolution, which overthrew the government of Husni Mubarak, is not an indication that she was pro-Mubarak. She said that she did not want to get involved in politics.
According to the internet website MBC.net, Rania said she was raised to not involve herself in matters that she does not fully understand, and that she was very proud of the outcome of the revolution. Rania said that, like any other Egyptian, she supported the Revolution with all her heart and cannot live in a place where there is so much corruption and injustice.
“I expect great things are yet to come for Egypt,” said Rania.
