Febraury 3, 2017 is going to be an critical date in the life of imprisoned singer Saad Lamjarred.

Next month, the Moroccan singer will appear in court to find out whether he will be temporarily released on bail or staying in Paris's Fleury-Merogis prison, according to a press release by Machahid24.

If Saad were to be refused bail yet again, he could be looking at a period of up to two years behind bars until the investigation into the rape allegations against him has been concluded.

Saad has been behind bars for months now, since getting arrested on "aggravated rape" charges of a French woman on 26 October, 2016.

Laura Prioul, Saad's alleged victim, stood before a jury for the first time last Thursday to give evidence against the singer.

Despite having no contact with the outside world, Saad's parents visit him three times a week and he is said to be allowed to make one phone call a week to family and friends.
