ALBAWABA - Rapper d4vd arrested for murder.
American rapper David Anthony Burke, known by his stage name d4vd, has been arrested on suspicion of murdering a 14-year-old girl whose dismembered body was found in a car registered to him.
The city's police department said in a statement that the 21-year-old musician d4vd was arrested on Thursday "for the murder of Celeste Rivas." He is being held without bail.
Seven months before d4vd was arrested, police found Rivas's badly decayed body in the trunk of a Tesla that was seized and registered in his name.
A court filing says that investigators found two black bags in the car. One bag held a dead head and torso, and the other bag held other body parts. An autopsy report indicates that Rivas "appeared to have been dead inside the vehicle for an extended period before discovery." Rivas would have been 15 years old the day the finding was made.
Police say that on Monday, the LA County District Attorney's office will look over the case against D4vd to decide if official charges should be brought.
In a statement, d4vd's lawyers said they would "vigorously defend" his "innocence."
Lawyers Blair Berk, Marilyn Bednarski, and Regina Peter said in a statement that the real proof in this case would show that someone other than David Burke killed Celeste Rivas Hernandez and caused her death. NBC News quoted their words.

His real name is David Anthony Burke, and he is from Queens, New York. In 2022, his video Romantic Homicide became a giant hit on TikTok, which made him famous all over the world.
Because of the growing controversy over Rivas's death, the singer had to cancel the last parts of his tours in the US and Europe last year.
