Actress Riham Abdel Ghafour surprised fans with a brand new haircut, in which the actress cropped and shaved off her hair.
The look, explained the actress, came as a result of her character Fifi, from the hit Ramadan show Don’t Extinguish the Sun.
Fifi proved hard to shake off, Abdel Ghafour, explaining that she would “see” Fifi and feel her depression whenever she looked in the mirror.
The haircut proved a successful way to get rid of the character; the actress said she feels "much better."
The phenomenon isn’t unheard-of; actor William Petersen, for example, had a hard time shaking-off Will Graham, the character he portrayed in 1986’s Manhunter. Academy Award-winning actor Daniel Day-Lewis is infamous for his method acting, portraying his characters throughout filming, even off-set, and has said he finds it difficult to adjust back to his normal life afterwards.
