A true romance is budding between Ally McBeal’s Calista Flockhart and guest star Robert Downey Jr., reported the National Enquirer.
"When the camera stops, the smooching doesn't," a source close to Calista told The US tabloid.
The romance is a true case of life imitating art, said a show insider.
"Robert's character was written into the show as a romantic relationship for Ally," the insider said adding that Downey’s “charisma and charm knocked Calista off her feet.”
She's described their onscreen kissing scenes as one of the great perks of her job.
"Now, Calista and Robert sneak off to her dressing room for tete-a-tetes, and their scenes together on the show have become even hotter.
"While the gang on Ally McBeal is aware of the steamy new affair, the couple has not gone public with the news.
"Robert and Calista have been out to private, late night dinners together on the west side of L.A.
And recently, they went to a hot new LA club called Deep, where they found a dark corner and spent the night whispering in each other's ears."
Both had prior romantic interests: Calista had been seeing comedian-actor Garry Shandling and Robert was trying to patch things up with his estranged wife Deborah Falconer when he first got out of prison.
