Social media can bring the end to even the strongest of relationships, if used wrongly, says Egyptian actress-turned-radio host Raja’a el Jeddawi.
Addressing listeners on her radio show "Wa Ento Besehha Wa Salama" (While You're in Good Health), Raja’a said that marital infidelity has been on the increase in recent times.
Giving examples of incidents she's come across in the past period, Raja’a blamed social media and technology for this wrongful act.
She said that Facebook and WhatsApp are especially to blame for the secret contact between married couples, reported Masr Al Ekhbaria.
Raja’a said that many married women who initiated conversations with strange men on those platforms in the past, later found out that the persons they were in contact with were in fact their own husbands or their spouses' close friends.
The radio host added that some of the cheating husbands turned out to be having an affair with their wives' close friends without even realizing it.
Raja’a finally urged everyone not to use social media and technology in inappropriate ways to avoid falling into these situations.
