The Music Production Company Rotana revealed that it will hold a press conference to officially announce that Egyptian singer Amr Diab has joined their team. A large number of media representatives were invited for the big event that is to take place at a grand hotel in Beirut-Lebanon.
According to the London based Elaph, Amr had broken his contract with his previous production company Alam El Phan, which he had been a part of since the beginning of his career. Well-known TV announcer Jumana Abu Obeid has been chosen to make all the formal introductions at the big event. Amr has made all the necessary arrangements to be present at the press conference, in order to show his gratification of being part of the Rotana family of singers.
Diab very recently released his newest music video "Ana Aish" (I'm Alive), which is part of his latest album "Alim Albi Al Gharam" (Teach My Heart to Love). Two months ago, the song was filmed by English director Stewart Gosling, who directed many songs for well-known international singers, in London.
Amr's latest album "Alim Albi Al Gharam" features twelve songs, which were written by a number of prominent poets. The new album features Amr in a new look and music styles. He combined Tango, Jazz, Techno, and eastern genres all in one. “Alim Albi Al Gharam” is shot in London and will be launched on the new Mazzika TV channel.
Amr has recently completed his autobiography which consists of his musical journey with all the hardships encountered from the early eighties up to today. He also talked about the agonies he went through by not being famous singing at nightclubs and the tight budget he was forced to live on which in most cases led him to borrow from friends and family.
Amr will present his biography in the form of a TV series on the new music satellite channel Mazika, which is owned by producer Muhsin Jaber in addition to Amr holding a percentage of the shares, in 25 episodes narrated by Amr himself. Amr previously refused all offers he had received by a number of stations to buy the rights to his life story.
The president of the Middle East radio station in Egypt underwent negotiations with the singer to accept the leading role in a new radio drama to be aired next Ramadan (the Muslim fasting month) directed by Hussein Ibrahim. Hussein revealed that Amr gave his initial acceptance and preparations are underway for finding a suitable script. –Albawaba.com
