The Arab world will soon witness the opening of a new music satellite channel created by the Music Production Company Rotana. The grand opening of the channel will be on July 2, 2003 featuring the largest number of songs for all the members of Rotana. Nonstop broadcasting of the latest hits will be aired in an attempt to enrich the quality of the Arabic song.
According to the London based Elaph, the new channel, which belongs to Saudi Prince Al Waleed Bin Talal, strives to air all the songs for all the singers that are tied to the company by agreement throughout the Arab world. The company is known to be the largest music company that holds the most number of singers.
The new channel has already bought the rights to air most of the summer festivals taking place around the Arab world live, as well as airing a number of songs produced by different companies.
A special request has been raised by the company's owner stating that the channel is to air 24 hours a day and is not to be restricted in any way to home viewers. The channel will also cover the entire Arab world, Europe, and other worldwide locations to reach as many people as possible geographically.
The channel will be accessed through Arab Sat, Nile Sat and Hot Bird. Rotana's library is so far the largest one holding the most number of Arabic songs and music videos. Through the channel, singers will be able to see all the benefits of joining the Rotana family, with regards to the new styles introduced, giving new meaning to the way one looks at music. –Albawaba.com
