Syrian singer Ruwaida Attieh has denied circulating rumors that her recent divorce was caused by her mother and her singing career. The singer stated that ongoing personal disputes between her and he ex-husband had led to the divorce without the influence of any third party.

According to the Qatar based daily, Al Raya, rumors claimed that Ruwaida's ex-husband had opposed her singing career and that her mother had interfered leading to their divorce.

On a different note, the singer recently appeared as a guest on the Tunisian radio station 'The Voice of Youth' during which she announced that is hoping to join music production company 'Rotana.'  She said that it would be her ticket to real stardom.

The singer added that if she does not join ‘Rotana,’ she plans on joining another production company.  Previously, Ruwaida filed a lawsuit against production company 'Al Shams' accusing them of neglecting her and not abiding by the conditions of their contract regarding promoting her albums.

Ruwaida said that she would like to act in a motion picture, particularly a musical, but would rather focus on her singing career at the present time.

During a recent visit to Cairo, Ruwaida took part in the Fourteenth Annual Cinema Festival, performing alongside the Syrian band ‘Ananna.' During the event she performed the song “Allah Hameeki” (God Protect You) especially for the occasion.  She plans on filming the song as a music video.

At the beginning of December Ruwaida was in Cairo to film a new music video for the song “Jurohi” (My Wounds) with director Jameel Al Maghazi.

Ruwaida’s third album, "Khisamak Mur" (Ignoring you is sour) was released during the Muslim Holiday Eid El Fitr under the production company ‘Shams Music.’
