Tunisian singer Saber Al Ribae stated that he will be holding a New Year’s Eve concert in Tunisia despite the fact that the Islamist political party has gained power after recent elections and have been minimizing the number of entertaining events in the country.
According to the internet website MBC.net, Saber stressed that he is a very religious person at heart and strongly believes that everyone’s freedom should be respected and that is the way everyone will be able to get along and live peacefully together.
Saber described the events of 2011 in Tunisia as a people’s uprising and not a revolution. He added that he is very proud of the success of the people in Tunisia to overthrow President Bin Ali, at the same stressed that not all uprisings taking place around the Arab world are the same, for each country has its own needs and what works in one country may not work in another.
