ALBAWABA - Barry Keoghan and Sabrina Carpenter are having a laid-back moment.
The relationship between Carpenter (25 years old) and Keoghan (31 years old) is "on and off," according to a source who spoke exclusively to PEOPLE, amidst reports of their breakup.
Keoghan liked the "Please, Please, Please" singer's flirtatious Instagram photo from Friday, Aug. 16, in which she posed in baby blue lingerie, possibly in response to the split rumors.
In a June interview with Rolling Stone, Carpenter hinted at the possibility of them having an unclear connection. She said, "How do I skirt around this question?" when asked if she calls the actor her lover.
She went on to say, "The [dating] pool is the pool, and you do what you do when you meet people who seem real and are so smart and great in every aspect." I obviously write songs about exactly how I feel, so I suppose I shouldn't be shocked if others find interest in who and what those songs address. That is inherent in the area.
After apparently crossing paths at Paris Fashion Week two months before, Carpenter and Keoghan initially spurred romance rumors over a Los Angeles dinner date in December 2023.
The pair first publicly showed up at a Grammy Awards afterparty in February. Despite their separate appearances on the red carpet, W Magazine, the party host, captured them cozying up inside the event and subsequently released a picture of them together.
A few days later, photos of the two kissing after their departure from the Los Angeles Hotel Bel-Air confirmed their relationship.
