Prominent Egyptian actor Saeed Saleh announced that he has stopped taking drugs and having intimate relationships with different women, according to the internet website MBC.net.
Saeed said that he is now on the right track and is very close to God.
“I make it a point to follow the pillars of Islam, and my new wife is a religious woman that wears a hijab (female Islamic head covering).
Saeed said that he was previously incarcerated for speaking publicly about the corruption of the former Egyptian regime and ousted President Husni Mubarak, and not for drug use.
He does not regret his past mistakes, because he learned from them and they made him a better man, said Saeed.
Saeed denied recent reports that claim his best friend comedian actor Adel Imam paid Saeed’s medical expenses after he suffered a brain stroke. Saeed said that he would never allow himself to be a burden on anyone, and that he is financially capable of taking care of himself.
