Sources have revealed that Syrian actress May Sakkaf has escaped from Syria after security forces put pressure on her. May went to live in Lebanon temporarily two months ago, right after she was detained by Syrian security forces.
May revealed that she was smuggled into Lebanon becuase she feared legal entry would lead to her detainment once more by Syrian forces.
According to the Middle East news portal Elaph, May was detained twice by Syrian forces due to her opposition stance against the government of Syrian President Bashar Al Asad and his regime.
Being on the opposition side of Assad has brought with it a number of lawsuits filed against May, the last stating that she was involved in terrorist activity.
