Samo Zein stays out of politics

Syrian singer Samo Zein recently participated in a demonstration in front of the Syrian Embassy in Cairo, holding a picture of Syrian President Bashar Al Asad.

 

Although Zein says that he is not involved in politics, since he is an artist.

 

According to the internet website MBC.net, Zein said that he participated in the Cairo demonstration to show support for the reform and development agenda put forth by Bashar Al Asad, and to show solidarity between Syria and Egypt.

 

“Conditions around the Arab world are chaotic, and if words are made of silver, then staying quiet is gold,” said Zein.

 

Zein also said that he was pleased with the political reforms Bashar has promised, and that he is against all bloodshed, regardless of a person’s religion, nationality or race.

 

“I do not support the Syrian government regime or the revolutionaries,” said Zein. “I am with the people and wish that Syria and its people will are safe and their lives return to normal,” he said.

 

The singer stressed he will not engage in politics, and will focus on his career.
