Egyptian folk singer Sha’baan Abdul Rahim has finally woken up from a coma that lasted four days. Upon regaining his consciousness, the singer vowed to completely stop smoking, which was the main cause of his deteriorating health and led to him falling into a coma.
The singer revealed that he was given a second chance and while he was in a coma he had seen death and had made a promise to God that he will completely quit smoking and will follow his doctors’ orders. Sha’baan did not think that him not following his doctors orders about smoking so intensively would lead to this.
The only artist that knew of Sha’baan’s condition is Egyptian comedian actor Sameer Ghanem, who is a close friend of Sha’baan and had visited him on a regular basis.
