Popular singer Shaaban Abdul Rahim, who 'hates Israel' and 'loves Mubarak', has finished shooting his first music video, according to the UAE daily, Al Bayan.
The popular Shaaban chose the song "Habattal Al Sagayer" (I Will Quit Smoking) to mark his debut in the music video, for the important message the song delivers to his young listeners.
The video, directed by Gamil Mghazi, will soon be aired on several satellite TV states, except Egypt's Channel One, which refuses to consider Shaaban as a 'talented person'.
Last July, Shaaban withdrew his decision to sit for the Musician's Association test, and hence becoming a "professional singer", as he found that Hilmi Baker was to chair the examination, who is known for his ver strict manner of examination.
Well known for his "Anti-Israel" wave, Shaaban's song "Ana Bakrah Israel" (I hate Israel) recorded a hit last year in the market of Cairo and beyond, replacing the typical love songs that people used to listen to.
The inspiration of the song was sparked after the eruption of the Palestinian uprising (Intifada) in September 2000. His song emerged at a critical time where cultural, political, and social factors all came together in a timely fashion.
An illiterate from a small village, and an unknown singer for over twenty years, Shaaban's singing career has catapulted with live performances at weddings, private parties, and social occasions. – Albawaba.com
