ALBAWABA - Shakira is once again the focus of the World Cup.
The Colombian superstar has officially released the music video for “Dai Dai,” her new collaboration with Burna Boy and the official song of the 2026 FIFA World Cup. The video arrived this week, just as excitement for the tournament continues to build around the world.
The four-minute clip celebrates football, music, and global unity. It opens with appearances from some of the sport’s biggest stars, including Lionel Messi, Kylian Mbappé, and Erling Haaland, as they head toward the pitch before the music begins.

Shakira then takes over the screen with a series of visually striking scenes filmed in Miami. The video moves through different landscapes inspired by countries and cultures around the world, matching the international spirit of the tournament.
One of the standout moments shows Shakira standing above Mexico City’s Angel of Independence monument before the scene shifts to energetic choreography in the desert with a group of children. Later, Burna Boy joins her in the video for a special appearance as the celebration continues.
The video builds into a football-themed finale, with Shakira entering a stadium surrounded by dancers wearing costumes inspired by the flags of participating nations. The 2026 FIFA World Cup will be hosted across the United States, Canada, and Mexico, making it the first tournament shared by three countries.
Toward the end of the video, Shakira pays tribute to football history through archival references to legendary names, including Diego Maradona, Romário, Paolo Maldini, David Beckham, Kaká, Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi.
“Dai Dai” was officially released on May 15 through Sony Music Latin. FIFA confirmed the track as the official song of the 2026 tournament and said royalties from the single will support the FIFA Global Citizen Education Fund, which aims to raise money for children’s education and access to football worldwide.
The release strengthens Shakira’s long connection with the World Cup. Her 2010 anthem “Waka Waka (This Time for Africa)” became one of the biggest football songs ever made and remains closely tied to the tournament’s global identity. She also performed “La La La (Brazil 2014)” and previously appeared during World Cup celebrations in 2006.
This makes “Dai Dai” another major World Cup chapter in Shakira’s career.
The 2026 FIFA World Cup is set to begin on June 11 in Mexico City and end with the final on July 19 in New Jersey. FIFA has also confirmed that Shakira will co-headline the tournament’s first-ever halftime show at the final alongside Madonna and BTS.
Fans online have already been reacting to the video, with many praising its energy, visuals, and Shakira’s return to football music.
With just weeks to go before kickoff, “Dai Dai” is quickly becoming the soundtrack of the 2026 World Cup.
