The family of renowned Egyptian actress Sharihan is strongly denying any rumor that their daughter has a brain tumor. French doctors surprised everyone last month by announcing the discovery of another tumor in the body of the 37-year old star, but this time in her brain and not her cheek.

Sources close to Sharihan explained that the doctors discovered the tumor after the star wasn't able to close her right eye for a whole day. She underwent several x-rays to find out that the tumor they took off her cheek had originally come from the brain.

After several rumors regarding her death following the critical surgery she underwent at the Pitie Salpetriere hospital in Paris last month, Sharihan's family officially came out to deny all rumors.

Sharihan’s sister Huwaida told the weekly Nujoom that she has recently come back from Paris after checking up on her sister. She assured the weekly magazine that Sharihan is in stable condition and that there is no brain tumor. Huwaida also stressed that the only tumor was the one in Sharihan’s cheek, which was removed.

With regards to the constant visits of Sharihan’s daughter, Huwaida said that the actress’s husband has made it a point that his wife be given the chance to see their daughter every weekend.

The medical consultant of the Egyptian Embassy in Paris, Dr. Hani al Hindi, has also confirmed the stable state of Sharihan. Al Hindi told Asharq al Awsat newspaper that Sharihan has suffered from a tumor in her salivary gland, which medical analysis has shown to be benign.

On October 14, doctors announced that the face of Sharihan would never return to normal, after the 18-hour surgery she underwent last month in Pitie Salpetriere hospital, in Paris. Her secretary Jamal Anwar assured then that the star's state is still stable, and that doctors are still banning visits to Sharihan to avoid any unexpected side effects.

The Egyptian Embassy, for its part, has said that Sharihan got several phone calls during this week following the surgery from well known figures in Egypt, including Noor al Sherief, Nagla’ Fathi, Izzat al Alaili, Mohammed Subhi, Hussein Fahmi, Adel Imam, and Mamdouh al Laithi.
