Egyptian actress, Sherihan, has done more of her fair share of dabbling in politics, pledging allegiance to the opposition Popular Current party and speaking out against the Muslim Brotherhood. In fact, just a few days before news of the death emerged, she told reporters "Egypt is still waiting for a leader."
The star is no fan of the president's policies and hasn't shied away from criticizing him but she made it a point to pay her condolences after hearing the sad news.
Egyptian daily, Al Masri Al Yawm, published statements by the actress, saying, “God is the One who gives and the One who takes and I pray his soul rests in peace.”
