Shireen Wajdi denies involvement with Warda

Egyptian singer Shireen Wajdi has denied her involvement in a film about the life of prominent Algerian singer Warda. Shireen stressed that at the time being she does not think of entering the acting world, wanting to focus her efforts solely on her singing career. 

 

According to the UAE based daily, Al Bayan, it was rumored that producer Ehab Tal’at, Shireen’s husband, had come to an agreement with Warda to produce a new film about her life and have his wife play the leading role. Shireen stressed that no such negotiations occurred between her husband and Warda and the news is merely a lie. 

 

Wajdi was named best Egyptian female singer for the year 2003 by the Egyptian magazine Huriyati. A poll was made the last month of the past year by the magazine, and the results were that Shireen holds the best voice among all other Egyptian female singers. 

 

Shireen expressed her honor for winning such a title and promised to keep working hard to always present her fans with something new. The singer announced that she will head on a tour around Gulf countries after completing her performances in Lebanon, Syria and Egypt. 

 

The singer also revealed that she has nearly completed choosing the songs for her upcoming album. Shireen added that she has worked with a number of prominent composers and poets. The singer also noted that one of the surprises she holds for her fans in the new album is a song sung in the Lebanese dialect. –Albawaba.com
