Serafina Dubai will be hosting New York-based musician Tarek Yamani for a special performance this month.
Yamani, who’s best known for creating a style of music known as Afro-Tara, will be performing at the Old Town Italian restaurant on March 11.
Since the release of his debut album Ashur in 2012, Yamani has been dedicated to exploring relationships between African-American Jazz and Arabic rhythms. This new direction in reinterpreting Arabic classical music is the main story behind his new album Lisãn Al Tarab: Jazz Conceptions in Classical Arabic, which has been highly successful in New York and the Middle East.
