Hollow Knight: Silksong (Team Cherry/ Seth Goldman)

ALBAWABA - A Hollow Knight fan named Seth Goldman, who passed away after battling cancer, was honored after his character was made into a full-fledged NPC with side quests and a boss fight in the game's sequel, Silksong.

Goldman's first wish was to meet with Team Cherry, the renowned Australian indie developer behind the award-winning games. However, developers from the studio took the extra mile and gave Goldman the opportunity to create a new character for Hollow Knight's sequel, Silksong.

Derived from his actual name, "Seth" is an NPC in Silksong who guards a long-forgotten secret and is willing to fight "until the very end, and beyond" for what he stands for.

Despite its simple storytelling style, Silksong was praised for its characters thanks to their unique designs, expressive animations, and voices. NPCs such as Sherma and Eira quickly became fan-favorites, with game footage and memes flooding multiple social media platforms about their silly and cute interactions with Hornet.

According to The Gamer, Team Cherry described Goldman as "a really cool young guy" and that they were fortunate enough to meet and get to know him.

Six years ago, Seth Goldman took to Reddit and wrote, "So some backstory, I have Ewing sarcoma, a type of cancer (which I’m still fighting, support is appreciated) but my wish was to talk to team cherry, which was super fun.

He added, "But after the talk they said I can make a character, which I did, he’s really cool and has a boss fight but I can’t show you anything besides the name which I named him after myself (Seth) but a blog post is coming soon so I can’t waif for you to see him, and see his cool lore and design and gameplay."

A friend of his replied under the post, "Hi I just found this and Seth was one of my best friends but this morning he passed away I wish he could get to play Silksong."

Goldman passed away in 2019 after battling Ewing sarcoma. In addition to receiving his own boss in Silksong, he received a special mention during the game's credits, so that his story could live on forever inside his favorite game.
