Ahlam—the performer once known as “the Queen”—has lost her case.
Bahraini actress Ghada Alsuni was the subject of a lawsuit by the popular singer, in which Ahlam (the plaintiff) accused Alsuni of “mocking” her in a sketch. Another 20 singers were also indicted.
The case had gone to the appeals court after Alsuni was declared innocent in the first trial.
Alsuni had parodied Ahlam on an episode of “Layali Kuwait” (Nights of Kuwait), enraging Ahlam, who swore she'd “teach them some manners.”
“Politeness doesn't do much these days, apparently,” she'd added. “Well, no more politeness from me. If others want to be devious, I'll be devious too.”
Alsuni celebrated the verdict on Instagram—bizarrely, in a deer get-up through what appeared to be a Snapchat filter—stating her gratitude at being declared innocent.
