Egyptian folk singer Hakim was forced to stop the filming of his first film “Ali Spicy” after being slapped hard in the face by actor Jamal Ismael leading to severe bruises in his eyes. It was revealed that Hakim insisted that Jamal slap him with force to make the scene more realistic.

According to the Egyptian based weekly, Al Nogoom, Hakim kept redoing the scene repeatedly until Jamal’s slap was so strong resulting in a bruised eye for the singer. On a similar note, the sudden travel of Egyptian actress Summaya Al Khashab, who was forced to leave to London to be by the side of her ailing husband, has created another crisis on the set of the film.

Due to the fact that the filming has taken over two months, the filming producer had agreed to join the crew of the film “The Italian War” starring Egyptian actor Ahmad Al Sakka, making it impossible for him to be in two places at one time.

The different circumstances that the film is facing has also led to the cancellation of a music video that was to be created about the film and aired on different satellite music channels, a matter that caused Hakim to fall into a state of depression fearing that the film will not meet the high standards he had set.

Hakim revealed that in the past years he has been going through many different film ideas but finally decided on “Ali Spicy”, in which he plays the role of careless medical student whose passion is to become a singer and heal people with his music.

In the film, Hakim performs five different songs, two of which are sung as a duet with Summaya, who had also sung duets with Egyptian singer Mustafa Amar in his film “Bahibak Wi Ana Kaman”. Summaya has expressed her happiness at returning to the cinema, after an absence that lasted for over a year and a half. She added that the film holds humanistic meaning and is a romance musical combined with comedy.
