Edward Asner, the owner of the character "Carl Fredrickson" from the movie "Up", which was dubbed into Arabic and named the character Fred Zane, passed away at the age of 91.
His family confirmed the news on Asner's Twitter page, writing that the actor died on Sunday surrounded by family.
''We are sorry to say that our beloved patriarch passed away this morning peacefully. Words cannot express the sadness we feel. With a kiss on your head- Goodnight dad. We love you.'' they wrote.
Asner was formerly the president of the Screen Actors Guild and is also the most awarded artist in Emmy history.
The movie Up was shown at the 2009 Cannes Film Festival.
