British rock star Sting and Algerian "Rai" music performer will get together for a concert in Tunis, Tunisia, on April 28.

Proceeds from the concert will benefit the Tunisian National Solidarity Fund, a national charity fighting poverty in Tunisia

The event is organized by the Tunisian Hotel Federation (FTH) on its 40th anniversary. Tourism is a major activity in Tunisia, first travel destination in the Arab World and the second in Africa.

In his last album "Desert Rose", British star Sting sings with Cheb Mami. In the past, he has sung with other international stars such as James Taylor, Steve Wonder and Pavarotti.

Several concerts and musical performances were held in the past to benefit the 26-26 solidarity fund. The fund was instrumental in reducing poverty in Tunisia to about 6%. The United Nations general assembly has voted last December in favor of a resolution calling for the creation of a World Solidarity Fund, an initiative which would build upon the success of Tunisia's domestic solidarity model to bridge the gap globally between the rich and the poor.
