Endless efforts by Kuwaiti Islamist to forbid the participants of the popular show Star Academy from holding a concert in Kuwait came to a dead-end, after the Kuwait Minister of Information denied their request. The minister gave the green light for the concert, which witnessed large of crowds of people struggling to buy tickets for the big show.
Thirty-one members of parliament in addition to a group of citizens had submitted a request to ban the concert on the grounds that it went against social and religious standards at the same time officials from government demanded that the concert be held, reported the daily Al Watan. It was revealed that the Islamist members would file a complaint against the minister of information for allowing the concert to take place.
A meeting was held in Kuwait international airport for the organizers of Star Academy. The meeting included artist Abdullah Ruwaished, Salem al-Hindi head of Rotana in Dubai, and other officials. The results of the meeting were that fans can't show up at the airport to greet the participants in Star Academy. The decision was made in order to avoid the traffic jam that happened when Bashar Sati, on of the stars of the Academy, arrived in Kuwait, where around 20 thousand people showed up to great him.
The organizers did not want the crowds to affect the participants and complicate things. Especially that it's possible for the fans to meet the stars in the concert in the land of exhibitions in Mushref where they held a big concert. The stars posed for photos with their fans afterwards.
Sources revealed that the Star Academy concert in Bahrain was postponed and no further reasons were given. After Kuwait and Tunisia, the Star Academy team will continue their tour to Dubai. –Albawaba.com
