His upcoming film Money Monster will be screened during the Cannes International Film Festival.
And George Clooney, 55, and his wife Amal, 38, arrived at the five-star Hôtel du Cap-Eden-Roc in Antibes, France, ahead of the 69th edition of the famous festival, along with a litany of many other A-listers who are in town for the prestigious event.
The glamorous couple were warmly greeted upon their arrival as they stepped out of a luxury black Mercedes.
The Hail, Caesar! actor cut a casual figure in a leather jacket, light jeans and suede shoes. He rested his shades atop his distinctive silver hair and walked hand in hand with Amal up the hotel's steps.
Looking typically stylish, Amal wore an airy cream top with split sleeves and a striped miniskirt which showcased her lithe limbs, giving her a real Riviera-chic appearance.
The brunette beauty's luscious locks glimmered in the sunlight and she covered her eyes with a pair of shades.
She wore a black leather bag with decorative tassels which complemented her subtle platform heels. Her make-up was equally as classy as her ensemble, with only a minimal application needed to enhance her natural beauty.
Coming hot on the heels of his previous cinema release, the Cohen brothers' Hail, Caesar!, George's next picture Money Monster is scheduled for a May 27 release.
Directed by Jodi Foster, the thriller sees the heartthrob star alongside Julia Roberts and Jack O'Connell.
George plays the lead role of financial TV host Lee Gates who is considered a Wall Street expert and gives viewers tips on his show Money Monster.
However, when one viewer loses money based on Gates' advice he storms the studio and takes the host hostage.
In contrast to the heavy subject matter of the new film, George recently starred alongside Roberts and Gwen Stefani in an edition of James Corden's Carpool karaoke with the quartet performing a hilarious rendition of Gwen's hit Hollaback Girl.
Meanwhile, there were plenty of other stars seen arriving in the French Riviera town on Tuesday, the day before the 69th Cannes Film Festival kicks off.
This year's Cannes jurors, including Kirsten Dunst, Vanessa Paradis, Mads Mikkelsen, Donald Trump and Valeria Golino were seen enjoying a drinks reception on Tuesday evening, while some of them had arrived earlier in the day.
Elsewhere, the likes of L'Oreal ambassadors Eva Longoria and Doutzen Kroes made their glamorous arrivals via Nice airport.
Eva looked typically stunning in a low-cut striped summer dress, while Doutzen opted to cover up in a stars and stripes printed top and shredded jeans.
Australian actress Naomi Watts looked fabulous in a pair of dusky pink trousers with a high waist and tapered detailing with a flood length hemline for her touch-down at Nice Airport.
And Oscar-winner Julianne Moore was also oozing stylish sophistication as she wore a longline black blazer over a crew-neck black T-shirt - exuding a business casual feel.
She gave the look a cutting edge vibe with the addition of super trendy wide-legged jeans along with think strapped black sandals.
Joining them at the airport was Fresh actress and music star Vanessa, who is one of the members of this year's all-important jury.
She cut a far more casual figure for her arrival and stroll through the terminal than she did a few hours later at the juror's drinks, for which she stunned in a pussybow blouse and skinny jeans.
Stunning Susan Sarandon joined the ladies in their arrivals as she sported a sheer monochrome top in a black and white hue which showed off her ample bust and flat stomach.
Supermodel Bella Hadid - who arrived in Cannes on Monday - was also seen out and about on Tuesday afternoon, arriving at a hotel in the city cutting a typically stylish and leggy figure in shorts, a denim shirt and heels.
Also on Monday, the likes of Hollywood stars Kristen Stewart and Blake Lively were also pictured landing in the city.
As the stars arrive in their droves, Cannes is being dominated by preparations for the 69th annual Film Festival to be held from 11 to 22 May 2016.
Coming six months after the Paris attacks in November, the Film Festival has elevated security measures, swarming the French Riviera resort town with an increased police presence. But particular care has been made, festival organisers say, to preserving the spirit of the annual cinema celebration.
Bomb sweeps and bag checks have been stepped up. A dramatic, unnerving drill was held last month in which mock gunmen stormed the festival's palace hub. And festival president Pierre Lescure has said that about 500 highly-trained security agents will be on guard around Cannes' red-carpeted headquarters, the Palais des Festivals.
There are around 200 police and extensive surveillance cameras throughout Cannes, but the festival has also sought to counter the heightened state by continuing with business as usual: the party will most definitely go on.
Australian director George Miller will lead the eight-member jury to preside over this year's competition.
The jury consists of Arnaud Desplechin, Kirsten Dunst, Valeria Golino, Mads Mikkelsen, László Nemes, Vanessa Paradis, Katayoon Shahabi and Donald Sutherland.
The film festival kicks off with Woody Allen's new movie Café Society, starring Twilight's Kristen Stewart.
The American actress has already been dubbed 'Queen of Cannes' with a second film, Personal Shopper, also in competition and will be screened on May 17.
Other celebrities expected in the south of France include Julia Roberts, who will feature in a film at the festival for the first time, Money Monster, in which she stars with George Clooney.
