The Egyptian Society for Cinema Writers and Critics has decided to hold the first Suez International Film Festival, but without a formal contest in light of it being a founding event.
The festival to be held October 24-30 in Suez city, and will be dedicated to late comedian Ismail Yasin. Also, the annual award for best comedian will be named after Yasin.
The Egyptian comedy star Adel Imam will be honored at the opening ceremony of the fest, and Syrian comedian Durid Lahham will be honored at the closing ceremony.
During the festival, headed up by the famous writer Mahfouz Abdel Rahman, many important Egyptian and foreign comedy films will be screened, with the attendance of a number of Arab comedy stars – Albawaba.com
