A number of news sources have recently circulated that prominent Syrian actress Suzan Najm Al Din has gotten a divorce from her husband, Syrian businessman Siraj Al Atasi, over differences of political opinion regarding current conditions in Syria.
Suzan had released a press release in response to rumors saying that she has been subject to attacks by vicious rumors due to her political stance and nationalism regarding Syria and the unstable conditions the country is going through with protests calling for the resignation of the current government and President Bashar Al Asad.
The actress said that some people are trying to create friction in her home as they have in the country as a whole. Suzan stressed that she draws the line when it comes to Syria and her family and does not allow anyone to harm either.
In defense of her personal life and family, Suzan stated that she and her husband share a complete understanding with regards to their married life and political opinion. She added that there are no disputes between her and Siraj over politics or any other matter. Suzan said that there is a strong bond that ties her family together based on love, honesty and mutual respect.
Suzan stated that the decision of her husband and children to move and reside in the United States was taken last year before events escalated in Syria and it has nothing to do with the instability the country is going through, but rather is based on work obligations for her husband. She added that she was to accompany her family, but her work obligations and contracts forced her to remain in Syria. Suzan said that she constantly travels to Orlando Florida, where her family resides to spend time with them.
Recent rumors had it that Suzan is living some of the most difficult times of her life after her husband had given her an ultimatum of either being with him and her children or remaining in Syria. Rumors added that due to her political stance, Suzan’s husband left her for her support of the government.
