The show must go on in Syria, where civil war is seemingly no obstacle to entertainment types and TV drama titles can be in good taste, bad taste or no taste at all. Their latest series, directed by Usama Shihab, is called 'Niran Sadeeqa' (Friendly Fires), a name with no irony intended.
Despite the fatal attacks on towns and villages and the thousands dead, production company 'Al Fardous' are going ahead with the new drama. They plan to air 'Friendly Fires' on Lebanese satellite channel, Al Jadeed, during Ramadan season 2013.
With little mention of the civil war, the latest TV production focuses on the comedy of relationships between different characters in the Syrian suburbs. The main plot centers on two people from different villages who come together by chance.
