ALBAWABA - Syrian actor Osama Al Sayed Youssef passed away at the age of 65, according to an announcement by the Syrian Artists Syndicate.

The Syrian Artists Syndicate mourned the passing of the esteemed artist Osama Al Sayed Youssef, who died aged 65, leaving behind a rich artistic and administrative career in Syrian theater and drama.

It wrote in a statement on Facebook, "The Damascus branch of the Artists Syndicate announces the passing of our esteemed colleague, the artist Osama Al Sayed Youssef. We will inform you later of the funeral and burial arrangements and the date for condolences."

The star, Osama Al Sayed Youssef, was born in Idlib, Syria, and graduated from the Higher Institute of Dramatic Arts in 1982.

His most notable television dramas include "Al-Nadam" in 2016, "Tale' Al-Fidda" in 2011, and "Khan Al-Harir" in 1996 and 1998, in addition to "Brokar" series.

He served as the director of the National Theatre in Aleppo from 2003 to 2016, and also chaired and supervised several editions of the Youth Theatre Festival and the Festival of Love.
