Word on the Syrian soap street was that we had seen the last of the hit series “Buqa’at Dou’a” (Spotlight) as the makers had been forced to call it quits. But news in this week says we can look forward to more Spotlight after all.

The 10th season of the popular Syrian comedy “Buqa’at Dou’a” (Spotlight) will start where it left off, filming in early April in Damascus, according to an announcement by the production company ‘Sama al Fan’.  This official update officially puts an end to rumors that the series would be canceled.

“Spotlight 10” will have a complete makeover, reported Sayidaty.net. Saif Al Din Subai (who had taken a hiatus from the film scene since the start of Syria's conflict) is replacing Director Amer Fahed, and the tongue-in-cheek storylines will expand beyond Syrians to tackle Arab and international concerns on the small screen.

We will be waiting with baited breath to hear an announcement on who will claim the starring roles.

Have your say! Who are your bets on for the lead roles for Spotlight 10?
