Egyptian singer Tamer Husni recently invited a number of close friends from the entertainment world for ‘Iftar,’ the holiday meal during the Muslim holy month of Ramadan, at his villa in the city of Rahab.
Among the guests was producer Nasr Mahrous, who was surprised when Tamer began discussing his problems with singer Shireen Abdul Rahim.
Tamer informed Mahrous that not once did Shireen inquire about him during his recent imprisonment, especially since he was going through the most difficult time of his life. Mahrous was surprised, the two singers began their careers together six years ago and their debut into the music world was a joint album that witnessed tremendous success around the Arab world.
The last dispute between the two singers occurred when Shireen refused an offer from Tamer for a leading in his film “Amr and Salma,” which he hopes to resume work on in the near future. Shireen said she did not feel the role suited her and considered it more of a supporting role.
Shireen asserted that even if she was offered one million Egyptian pounds for the role she would not accept it, because money is not the issue for her rather the fact that if she accepts a role it must add to her career.
Husni has denied circulating rumors that he has gotten engaged.
Tamer’s assistant Wael Abdul Fatah, said in a press release that the news of Tamer’s engagement is a fabrication and Tamer does not know a woman named Sarah Mohammad Abdul Raouf, who claimed to be his fiancé.
Wael also said that Tamer hopes to marry in the future, but currently he is devoting all of his efforts to completing his military service, in addition to producing new music.
Rumors claimed that Tamer was preparing for his engagement, to take place during the Muslim holiday Eid Al Adha. Supposedly he had proposed to Sarah right after he was released from prison last month, and the two had been involved in a love affair for the past five years.
Tamer sent over three thousand greetings to his friends, relatives, and fans wishing them a happy Ramadan. He sent another two hundred greeting cards to his close friends in the entertainment world, like actors Mai Izz El Din and Dolly Shahin, and producer Nasr Mahrous.
