Taylor Swift cancels Vienna Eras tour shows due to terrorist threat

ALBAWABA - Taylor Swift has canceled the three Eras Tour events in Vienna, Austria due to the arrest of two individuals on suspicion of preparing a terrorist act on Wednesday.

On its Instagram account, Barracuda Music published a statement that stated, "With confirmation from government officials of a planned terrorist attack at the Ernst Happel Stadium, we have no choice but to cancel the three scheduled shows for the safety of everyone." Barracuda Music made the show cancellations to ensure everyone's safety.

The message further stated that anyone who purchased tickets will receive their money back "within ten business days."

According to ABC News, Austrian officials announced on Wednesday that they had arrested a second suspect, in addition to an Austrian citizen who was 19 years old.

The 19-year-old suspect stated that he was particularly interested in Swift's performances at the Ernst Happel Stadium, revealing that Vienna was the intended target of their planned assault.

Taylor Swift's record-breaking European tour came to a close with a stop in Vienna, the capital of Austria. On October 18, she will make her comeback to the stage at Hard Rock Stadium in Miami, Florida, to kick off yet another tour throughout North America.

One 19-year-old Islamic State sympathizer plotted a suicide assault at a Taylor Swift performance in Vienna to murder many people, the country's intelligence service said Thursday.

On Wednesday, Austrian authorities arrested two people for allegedly plotting to attack the US star during her last-minute Vienna performances.

The 19-year-old primary suspect confessed, stating he "intended to carry out an attack using explosives and knives," DSN chief Omar Haijawi-Pirchner told a press conference.

"His aim was to kill himself and a large number of people during the concert, either today or tomorrow," he said. He scheduled these concerts for Thursday through Saturday.

Haijawi-Pirchner said the second suspect, a 17-year-old Austrian, worked for a facilities management business that "provided services" during Swift's Ernst Happel Stadium performance.

Haijawi-Pirchner said the younger suspect, who has refused to cooperate with officials, was "in the area" of the stadium when he was held.

Interior Minister Gerhard Karner declared, "We averted the tragedyHe noted that the situation was extremely serious, particularly following the slaying of three girls at a Taylor Swift-themed event in Britain.in.

Authorities searched the primary suspect's flat and discovered explosives and detonators.
