But Taylor Swift was playing makeup artist on Friday when she gave former tourmate Shawn Mendes a glittery makeover backstage at her recent Reputation World Tour stop in Toronto, Canada.
The 28-year-old superstar hung with the 19-year-old Stitches crooner after he paid a visit to the Rogers Centre in his hometown, where Swift was playing the first of two performances.

Taylor showed off her beauty skills in a Friday Instagram story which captured her covering the There's Nothing Holding Me Back singer in cosmetics.
In the clip, Mendes is seen relaxed backstage with Swift and her current tour opening act Camila Cabello.Somehow the Canadian ended up in the makeup chair.
Next Swift is seen giving him a full face of white, sparkly, glitter eye shadow.

'This is pretty much the exact same show look [we do],' the blonde beauty told him in the footage.
'Shawn's back and he's glittery,' Taylor captioned the video.
Mendes wore a white T-shirt and black baseball cap, and seemed happy with the look.

'This is perfect,' he told Swift. 'This is all I wanted, ever.'
You can't see, but can only hear, Taylor in the clip.
Shawn and Taylor have been friends for quite some time.
He was even the Grammy winner's first surprise guest on her tour back in May, where he sang with her at the Rose Bowl in Pasadena, California.
After the show, she shared a photo of herself and Mendes, who was her opening act for her 1989 World Tour, from soundcheck earlier in the day.
'Thank you @shawnmendes for surprising the Rose Bowl crowd tonight. YOU ARE THE GREATEST and I'm obsessed with everything I've heard from your new album,' she captioned the photo.
