Many swooned when George Clooney told wife Amal Alamuddin: 'I couldn't be more proud to be called your husband.'
But Ellen DeGeneres had a much different reaction.
On Tuesday, the 56-year-old star released a hilarious spoof of George Clooney's speech at the Golden Globes on The Ellen DeGeneres show.
In the clip, she could be seen 'seated' next to Amal during the 53-year-old ER star's emotional acceptance of the Cecil B. Demille Lifetime Achievement Award just days before.
The talk show host acted smitten like George was talking about her when he said: 'It's a humbling thing when you find someone you love.'
Then she takes a sip of champagne just as the actor says his new wife's name which makes her spits out the expensive liquid when she realizes the speech is not actually about her.
She then exclaims 'Amal!?' before reluctantly clapping her hands for the lawyer and activist and going back to sipping the champagne.
Shortly after the video was played, Ellen quipped: 'I don't know why she sat me next to her or why I was wearing a dress.'
While accepting the coveted trophy Sunday night, George also defiantly spoke about the recent terrorist attack in Paris at the offices of satirical newspaper Charlie Hebdo.
George said: 'We will not walk in fear.'
Both the actor and his wife wore badges saying 'Je Suis Charlie'.
He even went on to joke about his much derided movie, The Monuments Men, which was panned by critics.
'I've had a pretty good year myself,' the star said before his gushing words for Amal, adding: 'And I'm not just referring to the fabulous reviews of Monuments Men.'
George and Amal were married in September of last year at the city hall in Venice, Italy just two days after a star-studded wedding ceremony also in the beautiful northeastern Italian city.
