In this weekend's semi-final of MBC's The Voice, with just one episode standing between the contestants and the chance of being crowned winner, all of the wannabe stars sung their hearts out to win the viewers vote.

At this stage in the competition all power was put in the hands of the fans who were left with the difficult task of choosing their four favorites from the eight remaining contestants.

The penultimate episode began with Assi Helani's team, as Murad Buriqi and Mori Hatem battled it out for the final spot on their coach's team. Murad kicked things off with a performance of 'Ya Mal Al Sham' and then Mori took to the stage to wow the audience with his version of 'Listen'. At this point in the competition, Assi found it hard to pick apart the performances, telling both contestants they shined. After a group performance with their coach, it was time for the viewers vote. In a devastating blow for Mori and his legions of fans across the region, Murad won the ticket to the final.

Next, Kazem al Saher's team took to the stage. Tunisian songstress Yousry Mahnoush sang 'Ba'eed Anak' and then it was Noor Arkosa's turn to take the mic with a version of 'Al Aqeeq'. Kazem told his last ladies standing he was proud of them both for giving it their all. But it seems Yousry's performance cut the mustard with viewers, who voted her through to the next round.

Sherine Abdul Wahab was next to welcome her final acts onto the stage. After Fareed Ghanam and Muhammad Adli finished their solo performances, Sherine gave the lucky contestants the chance to join her on for a performance of one of her own hit songs. Viewers chose to take Fareed through to the final, but the blow was softened for Muhammad with a promise from Sherine that she would record a duet with him and put it on her new album.

Saber Al Rubai's team were given the task of closing the dramatic semi-final. Before wowing the audience with a group performance, Lamia Zaidi and Qusay Hatem battled it out for the final place on Saber's team. When the viewers vote came in, Qusay was over the moon with news that he had made it over the final hurdle.

With the end in sight for the final four contestants, viewers are gearing up for an explosive series finale.
