MBC's "The Voice" returned to our TV screens on Dec 28, and what a great start it's been for the show.

Just as expected, the four judges from season 1, Sherine Abdel Wahab, Kazem El Saher, Saber Rebai and Assi Helani, returned to their chairs in full throttle.

Currently, it's the auditions phase of the competition, known as "Voice Only," where judges hear but don't see the person singing, and turn around for them if they were to like their voice. The person then gets to pick the judge they'd like to have as their mentor throughout the competition (as long as that judge turned around for them). This stage lasts for five episodes!

Last year, Assi's mentee, Murad Boureiky, claimed "The Voice" title. The Lebanese singer enticed a number of contestants to join his team with the fact that his contestant won season 1. In an attempt to further prove his point, Assi sported a T-shirt with "The Voice" logo printed on it. Ah ha, is that the best you can do, Assi?

In a humorous way, Assi challenged Kazem and Saber to win this year's title as well. However, he told Sherine that he won't be challenging her because he "loves her."

Challenging one another aside, the panel worked well together and each chose a voice that they felt is closest to their hearts.

The episode ended with three contestants on each of Assi and Sherine's teams, and two contestants on those of Kazem and Saber's teams.
