And the Emmy winner shocked her 6.1million Instagram followers as she documented the process live.
She took to her profile Tuesday as she cut off her own hair from home, snipping away at one loc at a time, while her friends audibly expressed their shock in the background.
The 40-year-old prefaced, while showing off her scissors: 'Today is the day. I've been talking about it, now I'm about to be about it.'
She was all smiles throughout the 27-minute video, writing in the caption: 'I know my whole body I know where every mole is but I don’t know my Sclap. So hello Sclap #SheReady to everything.'
Haddish's friends cheered her on as she cut off the final loc, as she said: 'Oh my god, it feels so good to comb it, to brush it... I still look pretty, I don't care what you say.'
She revealed that she already got the go-ahead from Paul Schrader, writer/director of her upcoming film The Card Counter, which is set to resume filming this month in Mississippi.
Production was halted back in March, after one of the cast tested positive for COVID-19, just five days from wrap.
The Kitchen star clarified she can just wear wigs on set, adding: 'I can wear wigs in real life too. I mean, I've done it for years.'
She later posted another video after some of her followers raised concern over her motives for cutting it all off.
Haddish assured them: 'Nothing is wrong with my brain, you guys. I’m not suffering from no emotional s***, nothing.
'Anybody that knows me, knows me, knows that I’ve been talking about this for a long time.'
