Chortling’s no chore with the Laughter Factory

Your monthly entertainment calendar in Dubai isn’t complete without a visit to one of the Laughter Factory nights. The Moevenpick Hotel on JBR is the first venue to welcome the 'only funny man in Germany' Christian Schulte-Loh; Mick Ferry, an man whose humour is as dark as Edinburgh's narrow alleys, so it's no surprise he's a darling of the fringe. Finally, Paul Tomkinson, the rubbery-faced livewire with the energy of a four year old rounds off the night.

The Real Inspector Hound

The Junction, Alserkal Avenue’s local theatre space, is bringing a fine piece of meta-theatre to Dubai’s drama scene. Tom Stoppard's award winning comedy, The Real Inspector Hound is a one-act play, directed by Gautam Goenka. The action follows the comic escapades of theatre critics - Birdboot and Moon. The play, written in the early 1960s, is famously a parody of stereotypical parlour mystery plays, and of the pomposity of theatre critics.
