Morissette is Made

Join “Asia’s Phoenix”, Morrissette, for one-night only on 17 August. The 22-year-old Filipina superstar has taken the internet by storm with her singing covers and vocal range. She’s currently touring the world, and will be performing live in Dubai alongside singer, dancer, actor and host Sam Concepcion.

Intuitive Creativity Workshop

As part of Dubai art hub Alserkal Avenue’s third annual summer programme, a workshop will take attendees on a journey deep into the subconscious mind through breathing exercises and meditation techniques. You’ll be guided into a state of relaxation to loosen the inhibitions that might block emotions and memories, then invited to physically manifest your memories using ink techniques. 'Dream, Girl' Screening at Cinema Akil

Directed by Erin Bagel and produced by an all-female crew, ‘Dream,Girl’ examines what it takes to be a female entrepreneur, featuring ‘girl bosses’ from brand-new start-ups to million dollar industries. Whether it’s balancing family life, talking about self-sabotage or supporting other women, these incredibly diverse stories accurately share the nuances of what it’s like to be a woman in business today. The free-to-see film is showing at the A4 Space cinema room in Al Serkal Avenue.

The fan tour of the Opera

With the busy autumn season at Dubai Opera nearly upon us, this is a great time to tour the beautiful venue at the heart of Downtown Dubai. The one-hour tour takes place twice a day, at 10:30am and 2:30pm in English and Arabic, with other languages available on request. It’s AED75 for adults and AED40 for kids aged 3-16. It’s time to get Ripe

 

One of Dubai’s oldest and best-known outdoor markets and weekend entertainment concepts is indoors for the summer. Head to Times Square Centre on Sheikh Zayed Road for the Ripe Market’s indoor edition. The mall’s sun-kissed atrium retains an outdoorsy vibe, and you can visit dozens of stalls offering goods from the city’s designers, artists, and businesses. Expect anything and everything, from handbags and homemade jewellery to art and children’s toys. The Ripe Market also stocks fresh organic food, including fruit, vegetables, honey, coffee, and more.

Cave yoga in an urban setting

 

TEPfactor Dubai, the Jumeirah Beach Residence-based adult adventure challenge centre, turns over part of its man-made subterranean-style space for yogis every Friday morning. Arrive early for a free session, taught by a different instructor each week. The cave-style space is said to help keep you cool and release stress. The 1.5 hour-long sessions are free to attend, and are on a first-come, first-served basis. Advance booking recommended.
