An intense theatre experience: Venus in Fur

Veteran director Juliska Szik promises a gripping, intense theatre experience with ‘Venus in Fur’, a highly acclaimed meta-theatre production. The Tony Award-nominated piece written by contemporary American playwright, David Ives, is set in modern day New York City. The "play-within-a-play" explores the balance of power between playwright Thomas Novacheck (played by Osan Aboubakr) and actress Vanda Jordan (Farzana Palathingal), as they verbally dance around each other in a darkly comic performance.

The live show revolves around the tale of a young girl, who yearns for independence, falls asleep and enters Shadowland. And so begins a performance with the fluid logic of a dream, the grace of an acrobatic dance, the humour of a child’s cartoon and the heart of a love story.
