Lebanese superstar Ragheb Alama had a frank conversation about his "difficult" personality, wife Jihan and past life in an interview with Egyptian TV host Wafaa Kilani.
The much-loved singer admitted that he's very fond of beauty and women. But although he has dozens of female fans, Ragheb admitted to being a "coward" who would never act on it because he loves and respects his wife.
The UN Goodwill Ambassador told Kilani that just like any other man, he has his flaws.
"I have a temper, I'm mean and I tend to change my mind quite often. I'm a Gemini so I've many faces," Ragheb said.
Despite his flaws, Ragheb said that Jihan would never speak ill of him in front of others, adding that "I don't know how she puts up with me."
While the veteran star is constantly in the spotlight, he said that he is very private about certain things, that even Jihan isn't allowed to interfere with them. In return, he gives her the same amount of privacy.
While being in showbiz means that celebs can get away with almost anything, the 53-year-old singer said that before he got hitched, a woman tried to get him into the world of drugs, but he never let her, because his parents raised him well enough to keep away from the dark world of addiction.
And speaking of the dark world, Ragheb refused to discuss his nemesis Emirati singer and Arab Idol judge Ahlam, but explained that he never left Arab Idol because someone pressured him to. Ragheb said that he left the competition voluntarily and for the benefit of the program.
As for his new job as judge on the singing competition The X Factor Arabia, Ragheb confirmed that he only signed on for one season with fellow judges Lebanese superstar Elissa and Egyptian singer Donia Samir Ghanem, but will publicly announce it should he sign on for a second season.
