ALBAWABA - Turkish TV series Uzak Şehir (Distant City), starring Sinem Ünsal and Ozan Akbaba, has been breaking rating records since its premiere, but it recently caused much controversy on social media after the release of a new episode.
In the 45th episode that aired last Monday evening, scenes of the Albora family going to a venue and having fun were displayed, and the fans were angry over the presence of a child at the rakı (Turkish aniseed spirit) table, where alcohol is found.
In addition, Turkish child actor Kuzey Gezer, who plays the role of Deniz Cihan Albora in Uzak Şehir series, was seen singing in the episode, driving much criticism.
Nonetheless, the fact that the actress playing the character Fidan Albora, Ilkay Kayku Atalay, who wears a headscarf in Uzak Şehir series, was seen drinking alcohol.

People called to stop the broadcast of the series and urged the committee, which is responsible for reviewing scenes, to pay attention and take the right measures against it as it violated the traditions of the Turkish community.
The scene was described by many as "shocking" and "inappropriate".
A person wrote on X, "This scene in the TV series Uzak Şehir, which undermines the structure of Turkish society and yet breaks rating records, has drawn reactions on social media."
