Mel C revealed the Spice Girls five-piece reunion has been put on hold because Victoria Beckham has dug her heels in about going on tour.

But Posh Spice could reportedly pocket as much as three million pounds without taking part in the project if her former band mates go ahead, The Mirror reports.

The 43-year-old singer is said to want 'minimal involvement' and she doesn't want to tour because her fashion empire is flourishing.

Reports suggest there is a lot of tension because the wife of footballer David will 'hugely benefit without doing much'.

Victoria could rake in as much as three million from copyrights, endorsements and promotional plans if the hotly-anticipated reunion goes ahead, according to The Mirror.

A source told the publication: 'Victoria doesn’t want to tour as her fashion business is going from strength to strength.

'But she will make a lot of money even if she doesn’t take part in the reunion.

'It’s ruffled feathers as she is still set to benefit hugely without having to do much. At the moment she wants minimal involvement.'

Victoria Beckham's representatives and the Spice Girls' representatives were approached for comment.

Spice Girls fans could talk of nothing else when the five-piece teased their future reunion on social media.

But Mel C, 44, revealed their plans come to a grinding halt after the designer flat out refused to go on tour in an interview with The Sun.

The singer told the newspaper: 'Victoria has been quite vocal, it’s really not something she wants to do at this time. I think it has to be all five, so it’s tricky.'

'It’s very early stages, we’re not talking about new music or going out on the road together at this time. It was just getting together to reignite all the things that we have had together and to work with Simon [Fuller].'

Addressing rumours that the Wannabe singers would be performing at London Pride, she added: 'That would be a very fitting place for the Spice Girls to reform but unfortunately I don’t think you’ll be seeing the Spice Girls on stage this year.'

MailOnline previously contacted representatives for Victoria Beckham for comment.

In February - when the Spice Up Your Life hitmakers reunited at Geri's home - Victoria teased that 'exciting' times were ahead.

'Love my girls!!! So many kisses!!! X Exciting x #friendshipneverends #girlpower,' she wrote alongside a snap of the group.
