Lebanese superstar Wael Kfoury has broken his silence on rumours alleging that he intends to sue the press for publishing articles about his personal life. Wael denies ever making such a statement.
Several websites had been divulging juicy gossip about Wael’s private life, but the singer chose not to comment on the rumour mill, according to sayidaty.net. This silence is not uncommon for Wael, who prefers to let his fans speculate rather than setting the record straight.
His inistency on keeping his private life out of the public spotlight and his lack of comment led some to believe that he intended to put the press in their place and slap them with a law suit.
The press can stop holding their breath – it doesn’t seem that this superstar is going to be dragging them to court anytime soon!
Wael shot to fame in the early 90s after winning a gold medal for being the best male singer on the Lebanese talent show, Studio El Fan. He’s also been an outspoken advocate of the Lebanese army and even released an album singing about his experience doing 12 months compulsory military service. Now that’s dedication!
Wael is now back on the talent show circuit, where he is a judge on X Factor.
Should Wael punish the press for their gossip? Or do you think he's doing the right thing by keeping a low profile? Let us know!
