ALBAWABA - Reports emerged recently that France is planning to ban Kanye West's concert in the city of Marseille.
AFP reported on Tuesday that France's interior minister is seeking to ban American rapper Kanye West's concert planned in Marseille due to his antisemitic remarks.
Laurent Nunez is "highly determined" to ban the June 11 concert and is exploring "all possibilities", the source told AFP.
The American rapper, also known as Ye, is due to give a concert on June 11 in the city of Marseille. The concert is organized by the agency Mars360, exclusive operator of the Orange Vélodrome, an iconic stadium in Marseille.

A month ago, the Mayor of Marseille, a city in southeastern France, revealed that the city opposes the arrival of American rapper Kanye West after his antisemitic remarks.
"I refuse to let Marseille be a showcase for those who promote hatred and unashamed Nazism. Kanye West is not welcome at the Vélodrome, our temple of living together and of all Marseillais," Benoît Payan, the current mayor (left) and candidate for his succession in France's second largest city, posted on X.
It is worth noting that this month, the United Kingdom also blocked the American rapper from entering the country for his controversial remarks.
The government in Britain told the BBC on Monday that Ye applied to get an Electronic Travel Authorization (ETA), but his request was denied because his presence "would not be conducive to the public good."
He was scheduled to be present at all three days of London's Wireless Festival in July, which was canceled by authorities.
