Gal Gadot has offered her opinion on Wonder Woman and how her upcoming solo film as the character will differ from Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice.
"Wonder Woman is different. On this film, we went back to Diana's backstory – to her history, her coming of age. How did Diana become Wonder Woman," the actress said during an interview with We Got This Covered while promoting her latest film,Keeping Up with the Joneses.
"But with this character, what I love about her so much is that her agenda is love. It's not about fighting, it's not about who is stronger than whom; it's not about women versus men," Gadot continued.
"It's about love, and acceptance of others. She stands for love, justice and compassion."
Wonder Woman, directed by Patty Jenkins and also starring Chris Pine, Connie Nielsen, Robin Wright, David Thewlis, Danny Huston, Elena Anaya, Ewen Bremner and Saïd Taghmaouiset, is set to hit theaters June 2, 2017.
A synopsis for the film released in July reads, "Before she was Wonder Woman, she was Diana, princess of the Amazons, trained to be an unconquerable warrior. Raised on a sheltered island paradise, when an American pilot crashes on their shores and tells of a massive conflict raging in the outside world, Diana leaves her home, convinced she can stop the threat. Fighting alongside man in a war to end all wars, Diana will discover her full powers...and her true destiny."
Following Wonder Woman, Gadot will appear as the character again in director Zack Snyder's superhero ensemble film Justice League on Nov. 17, 2017 alongside Batman (Ben Affleck), Superman (Henry Cavill), The Flash (Ezra Miller), Aquaman (Jason Momoa) and Cyborg (Ray Fisher).
